HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Hempfield) will host two events in the 57th Legislative District during the month of September.
On Monday, Sept. 17, from 4-6 p.m., he will hold a free paper shredding event at the North Hempfield Volunteer Fire Department,
145 Old State Route 66, Greensburg.
“The paper shredding event offers a great opportunity to take steps to protect oneself from identity theft by having personal documents securely destroyed,” Nelson said. “We also will have information available about consumer protection and identity theft at the event.”
At the shredding event, no more than four bags or boxes per household are permitted, and no businesses, please. Examples of items to bring include bank and credit card statements, tax documents, insurance claim forms and anything that lists a Social Security number. Staples, paper clips and manila folders are acceptable. The documents received are securely shredded by a truck on site and then taken to a local paper recycling plant to be treated and reused.
On Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m., he will host a coffee talk to discuss state-related issues at The Lamplighter,
6566 William Penn Highway, Delmont. An RSVP is requested for the second event by calling his district office at 724-834-6400.
“This is my first of three fall coffee talks.” Nelson added. “I always enjoy these informal meetings where I am able to dialogue with constituents to help address their questions and concerns.”
The 57th Legislative District includes the following Westmoreland County communities: the city of Greensburg; the townships of Hempfield (part) and Salem; and the boroughs of Delmont, Hunker, New Stanton, South Greensburg, Southwest Greensburg and Youngwood.
