GREENSBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Hempfield) will hold a Veterans Appreciation Picnic to honor and recognize military veterans or their surviving family members residing in the 57th Legislative District. All service members are welcome to participate, regardless of when they served.
The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 4-7 p.m., at the Youngwood Park and Pool,
801 S. 10th St., Youngwood. Each veteran will be presented with a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative token.
“During our recent Fourth of July celebrations, we gave thanks to our military past and present for protecting and defending America’s freedom and independence,” Nelson said. “As a Marine, I personally understand the sacrifice, selfless service and dedication our veterans have demonstrated. Through this picnic, I want to personally thank those from our community for their service.”
