HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Westmoreland) is inviting the public to attend his Firearms Safety and Rights Seminar on Monday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Word of Life Church,
4497 State Route 136 in Hempfield Township.
“Important topics we will discuss are stand your ground, conceal carry, use of force, reciprocity, presumption of a deadly threat, duty to retreat, and how these matters relate to Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine,” Nelson said. “Firearms owners should be vigilant on these topics and make certain they are getting information firsthand from reliable sources.”
Firearms Owners Against Crime (FOAC) President Jim Stoker, a former law enforcement officer and veteran, will be the presenter. FOAC is a firearms owners advocacy organization that focuses on constitutional issues, legislation, education and safety.
“This has always been a well-attended event, and for good reason,” Nelson said. “Every year I learn something new. Firearms ownership is a right that must be exercised responsibly. Staying informed benefits everyone.”
There is no cost to attend. To register for the event, attendees can call 724-834-6400 or visit
