HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Hempfield) today announced he is hosting two upcoming district events: a Human Trafficking Fourm and his annual Senior Expo.

The Human Traffiking Forum will be held on Monday, May 2, from 6-8 p.m., at Word of Life Church, 4497 State Route 136, Greensburg.

“Human trafficking, drug trafficking and illegal labor brokers have become pressing issues in our region,” Nelson said. “Our extensive interstate system makes Pennsylvania a hotbed for this kind of activity and our case numbers continue to grow.”

Keynote speakers from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Blackburn Center will provide an in-depth look at the issue and instruction on what to do if human trafficking activity is suspected.

Nelson’s annual Senior Expo, co-hosted by Sen. Joe Pittman (R-Armstorng, Butler, Indiana and Westmoreland), will occur Thursday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Delmont Fire Hall, 2360 State Route 66, Delmont.

“The Senior Expo is one of my office’s most well-attended events and I know many people really look forward to it,” said Nelson. “Between exhibitors and health screenings, folks really get a lot out of the event.”

Exhibitors will provide information regarding health care, insurance, nutrition and safety, and be available for free health screenings. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Both events are free to attend. For more information, call 724-834-6400 or visit RepNelson.com.
