GREENSBURG – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Hempfield) will hold a Veterans Appreciation Picnic to honor and recognize military veterans or their surviving family members residing in the 57th Legislative District. All service members are welcome to participate, regardless of when they served.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 4-7 p.m., at the Youngwood Park and Pool, Pavilion No. 2,
801 S. 10th St., Youngwood.
“As a veteran, I know the sacrifices our current and former military servicemen and women and their families have undertaken,” Nelson said. “This is just one small way to say thank you for protecting and defending our freedoms.”
Those interested in attending are asked to call Nelson’s district office at 724-834-6400.
The 57th Legislative District includes the following Westmoreland County communities: the city of Greensburg; the townships of Hempfield (part) and Salem; and the boroughs of Delmont, Hunker, New Stanton, South Greensburg, Southwest Greensburg and Youngwood.
